On December 16, Xuelang Environment and Central South University signed an industry-university-research cooperation agreement and officially unveiled, and the two sides will jointly create a new type of hazardous waste oxygen-rich side-blowing gasification and melting collaborative disposal and utilization of industrial solutions. 

Chen Zhuocheng, Jiang Hongyuan, deputy general manager of Xuelang Environment, Liu Hanzhong, general manager of Xuelang Environmental New Industry Development Center, Gong Bin, chief engineer, and Professor Chen Yongming from the School of Metallurgy and Environment of Central South University attended the unveiling ceremony.  

It is reported that the two sides will be gasification melting collaborative disposal and utilization technology, oxygen rich side-blown furnace core technology and system equipment integration and other directions of in-depth cooperation, the new technology will be applied to metal sludge/ash utilization, organic hazardous waste collaborative disposal field, effectively improve the level of waste resource utilization.

The School of Metallurgy and Environment of Central South University, formerly known as the Department of Nonferrous Metals Metallurgy, was established in 1952 by merging the metallurgical departments and departments of Wuhan University and Hunan University into the Central South University of Mining and Metallurgy, with a history dating back to 1906. In the third round of discipline evaluation of the Ministry of Education in 2012, the metallurgical engineering discipline of the College ranked first in the national universities.

In 2021, Xuelang Environment set up a new industry development center, layout waste resource utilization, involving municipal, industrial and agricultural fields, has mastered municipal sludge drying, incineration, organic waste recycling, industrial sludge and ash melting recycling, construction waste recycling, environmental restoration and other complete sets of technology. We can provide customers with complete sets of equipment, EPC and process design and other services.

The establishment of the joint research and development center will become an engine for the development and innovation of new technology in smelting, and jointly make greater contributions to the harmless, reduction and resource treatment and utilization of waste in China.
