Taihu Lake is the third largest freshwater lake in China and the most important source of drinking water in the Yangtze River Delta region. It is also the main water supply source for Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai cities and the "barometer" of the ecological environment of the Yangtze River Delta. 

In the past decade, the ecological environment of Taihu Lake has steadily improved, and the comprehensive treatment capacity has gradually improved. However, the impact of global climate change on Taihu Lake, the traditional energy and traditional industries concentrated in the Taihu Lake basin, still make the ecology of Taihu Lake face severe challenges, protection and management is still a long way to go.

Wuxi, the "pearl of Taihu Lake", is the main battlefield for the protection and management of Taihu Lake, adhering to the road of ecological priority, green, low-carbon and high-quality development with Wuxi characteristics, taking the lead in proposing the goal of "zero carbon city", and "double carbon" work has become the top priority of Wuxi's modernization.

On the occasion of the Wuxi Innovation Annual Meeting 2022, Yabri China Entrepreneur Forum jointly issued an initiative with the Environmental Chamber of Commerce of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and the Wuxi Federation of Industry and Commerce, calling on all sectors of society to pay great attention to the ecological protection and restoration of Taihu Lake, focusing on investment attraction, public charity, expert intellectual support, social publicity and public participation. Contribute to the protection, governance and high-quality development of Taihu Basin.

The Yabuli Forum launched the "Zero Carbon Action Plan", in which the academia and the business community of the United Nations work together to address climate change and find and support smart and promising solutions. "Yabuli Zero Carbon Ambition Plan" from the perspective of climate change to help the ecological protection of Taihu Lake.

2. Organize a delegation of leading green enterprises and authoritative scholars (ecologists, climate scientists, architectural engineers, etc.) to enter Wuxi Huantai Lake Bay Science and Technology Innovation Belt, assist the local government to introduce green low-carbon industries, enterprises and systematic solutions, prevent pollution from the source, and help Wuxi take the lead in building a "zero carbon city".

Third, jointly with the relevant member foundations of the Social Responsibility Committee of Yabuli Forum, implement publicity and education projects for the public, and lead the whole society to enhance the awareness of protecting Taihu Lake.

The live program "Road to Zero Carbon Ambition" created by Yabli Forum visited the Science and Innovation Belt around Taihu Bay, the Sino-Swiss Low-Carbon Eco-City, and the zero-carbon Industrial Park of Wuxi High-tech Zone, talked with scholars and entrepreneurs, recorded the ecology of Wuxi and the beauty of Taihu Lake, and spread the plan of Wuxi for the governance of Taihu Lake and the construction of a "zero-carbon city".

V. Youth Partners, a growth platform for college students incubated by Yabuli Forum, has been actively promoting youth participation in climate action. "Youth Partner" will take the lead in the national college students to set off the trend of protecting Taihu Lake, call on and lead college students to provide long-term volunteer services for Taihu Lake protection public welfare projects, and "add more beautiful colors to Taihu Lake".
